Klosters, Davos, September 2004

Davos, Switzerland, is considered to be the best place in the world to come if you have asthma or difficulty breathing. Why? Clean air and an altitude high enough to force the oxygen-carrying red blood cells to multiply.

In the 10 weeks I spent at the clinic in this area, I lost most of the 55 extra pounds I was carrying around in front of me - and you can see why. Every valley is a moderate to steep climb on foot or on a bicycle. Difficult? Not if you take it easy.

Davos in der Schweiz sollte die beste Stelle in der Welt sein, wenn man Asthma oder Schwierigkeiten mit dem Atmen hat. Warum? Sauber Luft und eine Höhe, die die Sauerstofftragende Rotblutkörperchen sich zu vermehren zwingt.

In den 10 Wochen, die ich in der Hochgebirgsklinik verbracht habe, habe ich die meisten von den 27 verlorene Kilo abgenommen.... Und man sieht warum. Jedes Tal ist ein mittel bis steile Steigung nach oben. Schwierig? Nicht wenn man es Schritt für Schritt angeht.
